Local appraiser William Piner has opened a new office in Wilmington, N.C., for his firm, and recently earned an industry designation from a national group, according to a news release.
Piner is an associate with the commercial real estate firm of Moore & Piner LLC, which is based in Greenville, N.C. Piner graduated from the University of North Carolina-Wilmington and moved back to the area to open a new branch of Moore & Piner, the release stated.
Piner, with more than 20 years of real estate appraisal and brokerage experience, recently obtained an MAI membership designation from the Appraisal Institute.
Appraisers experienced in the valuation and evaluation of commercial, industrial, residential and other types of properties and who advise clients on real estate investment decisions can hold the MIA membership designation, the release stated.
Recipients of this award must reach 4,500 hours of qualifying experience requirements while completing a graduate-level curriculum that includes a comprehensive exam and a written demonstration appraisal report.
Designees also must meet the appraisal profession’s Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice and the Appraisal Institute’s Standards of Professional Practice and Code of Ethics, the release stated.
