To get on the mobile appraisal bandwagon, the first thing you’re going to need is a device. And therein lies a choice that will define your tech personality: Are you an iOS or an Android?
“This is a tough question as the Android and iOS platforms are becoming more and more similar with respect to features: Camera tools, voice controls, browsing, cloud storage,” said George Opelka, senior vice president of ACI. “Essentially, both platforms allow users to perform the same tasks using third-party apps.”
“We have seen a tremendous amount of growth in the Android platform with new apps and new smart phones and tablets being launched regularly. However, when it comes to Apple’s iOS platform, there are a ton of apps and models to choose from and, hence, it is the most popular platform right now,” said Sylvia Kainz, chief operations officer for Bradford Technologies. “We believe the iOS is still the most popular way for appraisers to get online. Besides iOS and Android, Windows tablets are also popular due to the familiarity with the Windows environment. We suggest that each appraiser uses what he prefers most or is used to.”
